Photos of Port El Kantaoui in Tunisia

The rocky coast between Chott Meriam and Hergla. Chott Meriam is located ca. 5km north of Port El Kantaoui and Hergla 10km north of Chott Meriam. In opposite to the normal sandy beaches in Sousse / Kantaoui, one can find here a beach consisting of rocks and small stones. The normally quite deserted located Hotel Tergui Club ist not far away.
One can reach this area by taking a Louage or the Autobus from Sousse (direction Hergla, Route Touristique). An other reason for a visit is the Flamingo Lake, which is located nearby.
The Flamingo lake near the road GP1 from Chott Meriam to Hergla. You can find here almost all the time a lot of flamingos, which have mostly white, and not the usual reddish feathers. On the other side of the road is the above shown rock beach.
